The Ethiopian Sidamo Kilenso Mokanisa is one of our favorite natural Single origins.  

Produced by farmers of Kilenso Mokonissa village in the Borena Hagermariam District of the Sidama Zone of Southern Ethiopia. Southern Ethiopia coffees like this one are produced from distinctive traditional Ethiopian varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. Like virtually all southern Ethiopia coffees, this coffee is produced by villagers on small garden plots interplanted with food and other subsistence crops. This is a dry-processed or “natural” coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. 

This coffee is Smooth, with silky body, chocolate, toffee and nuts up front. Nippy lemon acidity and blueberry notes mid palate. Finishing with long cocoa, berry, honey and fudge.

Our light roast preserves wonderful fruity notes dominated by berries. 

They call it a fruit bomb for grownups!

    One of the most fruitiest beans I’ve tasted. Took a little to adjust to the taste in latte but once involved was quite addictive. Long black is very good if you like fruity and flowery flavours. Fail in and grind adjust was quite easy, 17 seconds for 20 g to get 40 g from my eureka grinder.

    In the early 2000's I visited a friend working in Eithiopia. This coffee was a wonderful reminder of the great cups we drank together then.

    I loved the look of the light roasted beans and that special sense of special coffee. The plunger brew did not disappoint. And, I was also encouraged to vary what milk and sugar I added to the cup. I have a litmus test of trying new coffees "straight" in a Demi tasse. There was a sweet enjoyment there. I changed to a two percent milk and coffee crystals. Now the cup was outstanding. I admit to enjoying not having to share with anyone else. However I did offer the coffee with cakes to visitors. Their pleasure matched mine. Now, I am looking forward to creating brews by different methods. Totally thrilled with the coffe and the great service from Di Bartoli. Thank you.
