Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Grade 2 Washed Single Origin Coffee
An absolute Flavour Bomb of an Ethiopian single origin classic returns to the Di Bartoli range.
Di Bartoli is proud to introduce this specialty Yirgacheffe with a cupping score of 85+. Grown high in the Sidama region at 1960–2400 masl, this Grade 2 fully washed coffee is a stunning representation of Ethiopian heirloom varietals.
Yirgacheffe coffees are world-renowned for their clarity and floral-fruited sweetness. Smallholder farmers carefully handpick ripe cherries, which are then fully washed and sun-dried to bring out their bright, expressive character. The high altitude and unique terroir of Yirgacheffe create the ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation, intensifying the intricate flavour notes that have made this region legendary among coffee lovers.
Expect hints of green apple, lemon zest, raspberry and apricot rounded out with a subtle dark chocolate body that will linger as you savour.
About the Coffee
We recommend enjoying this coffee as a pourover (15g medium grind to 250g water at 94-96°C) to highlight its floral and fruity profile, or as a delicate espresso (18–20g in, approx. 40–45mL out at 94–96°C). For best appreciation of all of the flavours we recommend serving this coffee black with no milk or sugar, though this coffee still tastes great with milk (the milk just masks the subtle flavours).
