  1. Fast and Accurate 5 Star Review 5 Star Review

I recently purchased a Fausto to pair with a Profitec Pro 700. I'd wanted an electronic grinder to replace a 7-year-old Mazzer Mini; I'd grown frustrated by the Mazzer being messy and the stiff collar-based grind adjustment.

Renzo had recommended the Fausto. I'd thought about an electronic Mazzer or the Profitec T64. I knew the Fausto was likely going to be faster than the Mazzer. I liked the styling of the Fausto over the Profitec. The fact that the top burrs move on the Fausto so that grind setting is retained after cleaning was also a factor.

I used about 250 grams of coffee to dial the Fausto in, using weighted doses to get the single and double timings about right.

The Fausto has a dial-based micrometric adjustment, which I really like compared with the Mazzer collar. It's very easy to make adjustments for humidity or a change in beans. To dose manually pressing the single and double shot buttons simultaneously is required. A third manual mode button would be a handy addition.

The grind speed is noticeably faster than the Mazzer. I went with black and I think it looks nice on the bench with the Profitec Pro 700.

I think the Fausto is worth considering if you are buying new or dealing with upgraditis.

  2. What a grinder! 5 Star Review 5 Star Review

Having upgraded from the ten year old Rancilio Rocky grinder to the Fausto, the improvement in speed, accuracy and consistency was always going to be huge...
This heavy bad boy looks awesome in stainless steel sitting next to the Rocket Evo and has quite a large bean hopper which is snug enough to keep most air out.
I used about 500 grams of beans to dial this in and whilst the 18g shots are not quite as quick to grind as expected, they certainly have create very little mess and the supplied stainless steel plate that does pick them up is easy to take to dispose of.
I waited a number of months for the grinder to be released (I did consider the Mazzer which is harder to adjust and slower and the Macap M4D which I think is just ugly) and I'm glad I did.
Making micro adjustments to the grinder and adjusting the timer is soo easy.
I believe this is the best domestic high end grinder on the market for me and am glad I waited for this model.
Hope this helps someone when considering a future grinder purchase, I see great value in this grinder and it looks damn pretty on the bench!
Thanks for all of your help Ofra!
